Station 30 "Glenville- Birthplace of Superman in 1938" (Assigned to the Six Battalion)

Station 30:
Fire Station 30 was built in 1898 as Headquarters of Glenville FD.  On June 19th 1905 Station 30 was Established with annexation of Glenville. The address was 643-645 E105th St.  Near St Clair.  On August 8th, 1981 Old Station 30 was closed and the new station at 10225 St Clair opened August 8th, 1981. In 1938 Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster Created Superman in the Glenville Neighborhood which is served by Station 30. This June is the 70th Anniversary of the Release of Action Comics No. 1 the first appearance of Superman. The picture above is from Action Comics No.1. The Barenaked ladies (Ed Robertson) visited Station 30 to film an episode of "Ed's Up" which is the Canadian version of Dirty Jobs. Ed's Up the Cleveland Firefighter episode aired on Outdoor Life Network, January 30th 2008.
