"6th Battalion House Fire"

At 0148 box alarm for a house fire
at 1169 E 112 st, Engine Co's 22 & 30, Rescue 3, Hook & Ladder 30, Chief of Battalion #6. B6 reported a working fire in a 2.5 story wood frame house. Working fire dispatch: E10 (worker), T10 (RIT)

Working Fire on Holton for B-2
Approximately 0130 Box alarm for house on fire, at East 81st St. and Holton Ave. Engine 26, Tac 5, Ladder 9,Rescue Squad 1, and Battalion 2. Engine 26 Reported a working fire in a 2.5 story vacant wood frame house. Engine 41 (Worker), Ladder 11 (RIT), AC-1. Engine 26 and Ladder 9 remained on scene for 2 hours using Ladder pipe.

"6th Battalion Companies battle house fire"
Mid afternoon box alarm for a house fire at 1069 E 66 st, Engine Co's 22 & 30, Rescue 3, Hook & Ladder 30, Chief of Battalion #6. B6 reported a working fire in a large -multi family 2.5 story wood frame house. Working fire dispatch: E17 (worker), T1 (RIT), AC 1.

 

"Quick stop by 4th Battalion Companies"
Approximately 0530hrs, Box alarm for a house on fire at 1966 W 54 st. Engine Co's 4 & 24, Ladder 4, Rescue 2, Chief of the 4th Battalion. E 4 reported smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a multifamily 2.5 story wood frame house. Fire was handled with the "box assignment".

"Engine 23 misses first due house fire"
Approximately 1400hrs, E 23 was on a medical run when a box alarm for house on fire at 7101 Franklin ave came in. Engine Co's 24 & 4 (fill in), Rescue 2, Ladder 23 Chief of B3. Working fire in a 2.5 story wood frame house. Working fire dispatch: E33, L4, AC1.

"Building fire in the Central Neighborhood"

Approximately 1715hrs, box alarm: in the 6300 block of Quincy ave, report of a building on fire.  Engine Co 17, Tac 5, Ladder 9, Rescue 1, #1 Battalion. L9 reported a 2 story "Tax Payer" with smoke showing on the 2nd floor.  Crews located and extinguish a fire in a downstairs Barber shop.


"2-2-2 in the 6th"

1340hrs,
box alarm for Engine Co's 31 & 30, Hook & Ladder 31, Rescue 3, Chief of Battalion #6.  Hayden rd & St Clair ave.  E 31 reported a working fire in a 3 story brick, flat roof-  apartment building. Working fire dispatch: E40 (worker), L30 (RIT). AC1.  B6 requested a Triple 2.  Companies responding on the 2-2-2: E22, E10, Tower 10, Rescue 4 & #1 Battalion.

0647hrs, Box alarm at 3727 W 159st. Engine Co's 39,& 43,L-39,Squad 2 & B-3.  First arriving company reported fire on the 1st floor of a 3 Story apartment building.  Working fire dispatch:  Eng 33  (worker) L-23  (RIT).  Also AC-1

Box alarm in the 3500 block of E 113 st. Engine Co's 36 & 41, Ladder 36, Rescue 1, Chief of Battalion 5. B5 reported a working fire in a 2.5 story wood frame house. Fire on 1st and 2nd floors. Working fire dispatch: E11 (worker), L11 (RIT).

"B4 battles house fire"
1649hrs, box alarm at 3189 W 46 st. Engine Co's 24 & 4, H&L 4, Rescue 4, Battalion 4 Chief. Working fire in a 2.5 story frame house that was behind another house. Fire on 2nd & 3rd floors. Working fire dispatch: E20 (worker), T20 (RIT)

 

"House fire on E113 in the 6th"
1402hrs, box alarm at 1237 E 113 st. Engine Co's 30 & 22, Ladder 30, Rescue 3, Chief of Battalion 6. B6 reported a large 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire on the 2nd & 3rd floors. Working fire dispatch:Tower 10 (RIT), E10 (worker)

"Numerous calls for a Tax-Payer style building on fire"
1800hrs, Box alarm 10800 block of Aetna ave. Engine Co's 36 & 41, Hook & Ladder 36, Rescue 1, Chief of the 5th Battalion. The alarm office received numbers calls and dispatched the RIT (L11) and Worker (E11) as the box companies began rolling. E36 reported, a 2.5 story 1st floor brick commercial, 2nd & 3rd floors wood frame-combination structure with fire blowing out of 1st and 2nd floor windows. E26 was specialed in to assist as a supply pumper.

"5th Battalion Companies battle the fire and rescue a family dog"
Approximately 1400hrs: Box alarm 10800 block of Reno aveEngine Co 36, Engine Co 41, Hook & Ladder Co 36, Rescue Co 1, Chief of the 5th Battalion. Engine 36 reported a 1.5 story house with fire on 2nd floor. Working fire dispatch: E11 (Worker), L11 (RIT). Members of Rescue 1 located and removed the limp body of an unconscious/ unresponsive dog. The company immediately began Resuscitation efforts, beginning with new "Pet Oxygen Mask" that was issued to the company. After nearly 20 minutes, the dog's condition began to improve and ultimately was able to walk. The owner took the dog to an animal hospital, where he was treated for smoke inhalation and released.

Approximately 1100hrs, box alarm in the 2000 block of E 71 st.#17 Engine , #10 Engine,#9 Ladder, #3 Rescue, and #1 Battalion. B1 reported light smoke showing from a 1 story industrial building. Working fire dispatch: T10 (RIT) , Tac 5 (Worker)

"Industrial building fire in the 5th"

At 0312 hrs, box alarm at 4104 E 100 st. Reported as a building on fire with propane tanks inside. Engine Co's 11 & 36, Hook & Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Chief of the 5th Battalion. Companies battled a large volume of fire in a 1 story industrial building. Due to numerous calls from CPD, the worker (E41) and RIT (L36) were dispatched along with the box assignment.

Approximately 0130hrs, box alarm for a house fire in the 6800 block of Morgan ave. Engine Co's 11 & 13, Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Chief of B2. Heavy fire in a 2 story wood frame single family house. Working fire dispatch: E26 (worker), L13 (RIT).

(#3) Approximately 0315hrs, box alarm in the area of Frazee/ Doloff aves. Engine Co's 13 & 11, H&L 13, Rescue 4, Chief of battalion #2. 3 houses on fire- 2 next to each other, and one around the corner in a separate location. Working fire dispatch: Tac 5 (worker), L9 (RIT), AC 1. Triple 2 alarm: Engine Co's 26 & 1, Tower 1, Rescue 1, Chief of Battalion 5. FIU

(#2) Approximately 2100hrs, box alarm in the 12200 block of Revere ave. Engine Co's 36 & 41, Hook & Ladder 36, Rescue 1, Chief of Battalion 5. Engine Co 36 was originally dispatched to the address for a car fire and found an SUV, on fire in the driveway, that had communicated to the house, so they requested that the alarm office "Pull the Box". Working fire on the second floor of a 1.5 story wood frame single family house.

"Full School bus crashes"
A school bus, full of children crashed this morning when the driver got out to use the bathroom at the gas station that is across from Fire Station #28. Some of the children jumped off of the moving bus as it rolled down "Commercial ave hill". One brave child ran up front to take control of the steering wheel.

story frame house that had heavy fire on the 2nd & 3rd floors. Working fire dispatch: Tac 5 (worker), Ladder 9 (RIT), AC1. 3 lines.

"Same street, new fire"
approximately 0030hrs, box alarm for report of a house on fire at E 78th st and Aetna ave
. Engine Co's 11 & 26, Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Chief of Battalion #5. E 11 was first in and reported that they had a well involved 2.5 story wood frame- single family house with extension into the side #4 exposure (occupied house). Working fire dispatch- E13 worker, L13 RIT, E41 for relay operations, AC1, Air Supply, Arson unit.
The bulk of the fire (main fire structure) was knocked from the exterior and crews eventually made an interior attack to finish the job.
An initial interior attack resulted in a good save of the occupied exposure.

"Fireman has to dive out of a window"
Approximately 1600hrs-box alarm: 6922 Park ave.
Engine Co's 11 & 13, Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Chief of the 2nd Battalion. E11
was first in and reported that they had an occupied 1.5 story with light smoke showing. 2 lines were taken inside- one in the
basement and one on the first floor. At one point the first floor unexpectedly erupted in flames and a fireman was forced to
dive out of a window. Working fire dispatch: E26, L13, AC1. 1 pet dog fatality. A member of L11 was transported to the
hospital by R1 with non life threatening injuries. Red cross was called in to assist the victims.
