"Last day of 2007"

Approximately 1600hrs- Box alarm- 23 all hands, 33 all hands- W97 and Lorain ave. Report of a house on fire. E23 reported a 2.5 story occupied wood frame house with heavy fire on second and third floors. All civilians were out when we arrived. Working fire dispatch: 4- all hands. AC1


"House fire in B-1"
at 0337 am Box Alarm for house on fire at 8028 Melrose. E-22, E-17, T-10, RS-3 and B-1. RS-3 found 2.5 story wood frame house well involved on the second and third floors. Fire also found on first floor and companies backed out. E-10 (Worker) and L-9 (RIT)4 handlines and Master Stream used. Companies on scene for 3 hours.

of a house on fire. E11 reported a vacant 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire in the basement, extending to the upper floors. Working fire

"Four fires for North East companies (A)"

-0430hrs: Box alarm- 10321 Olivet ave. 30-all hands, 22-all hands. Fire on 1st and 2nd floor of 2.5 story wood frame house. (10's RIT & Worker)

-Box alarm @ Ashland & Hauthorne. Vacant 2.5 story house- well involved. E17,Tac-5,L-9, R4 & B-1. Eng 22 worker / T-1  Rit.  Also AC-1.

during the fire.

"Firearm and gun powder fire!"
1439hrs- W. 80th and Lorain ave, E23, L4, B3 and AC1 sent on a still for a report of a trailer on fire.  The driver advised the companies that he had
several firearms and gun powder in the trailer. There were small explosions from within the trailer during the fire. No injuries.

smoke showing. Fire on 1st floor. 2 hand lines used. E40 (Worker), L30 (RIT)

"House fire in Collinwood"
0219hrs- E40, E31, L31, R3, B6. 15803 Damon ave report of house on fire. E40 reported an occupied 2.5 story wood frame house with fire on
3 floors, and extension to the 2nd and 3rd floor of the neighboring 2.5 story wood frame house. L30 (RIT), E22 (Worker) special request: T10,
E10. 1 fireman transported by Rescue 3 for non life threatening injuries. Notice the picture with two aerial ladders on separate houses.

"Battalion 4 house fire"

1258hrs-box alarm for E-20, T-20, E42, RS-4, and B-4 . 3869 W. 19 st. Occupied 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire on 2nd floor and attic.

"Occupants escape the flames!"
approximately 0230hrs- Box alarm- E36, E6, L36, R1, B5. 14103 Maplerow ave, report of a house on fire. E36 reported an occupied 2.5 story
wood frame single family house with heavy fire on 2nd and 3rd floors. Working fire dispatch: 11's (RIT and Worker), AC1. Special request
-Air supply one (driven by B2 aide), E38, T20. 3 occupants reportedly jumped from second story windows. Several dogs perished in the fire.
  Garfield Hts. Fire was first on scene and quickly relieved by CFD companies. Several handlines and 1 ladder pipe used. Companies returned
to service around 0530hrs.

"Industrial building fire"

Approximately 0030hrs- Box alarm: Engines 26 and 11, Hook and Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Chief of the 2nd Battalion. 3361 E. 81 st.  E26 reported an industrial building with heavy black smoke showing and declared a working fire.  Working fire dispatch: 13's (RIT & Worker). AC1. It was a large
machine on fire inside the building.

"Clark ave building fire"
@0006hrs- Box alarm at 2908 clark for report of a building on fire. Companies: E24, E4, L4, R2, B4. E24 reported an occupied 2 story dwelling on fire. Working fire dispatch: E20 (Worker), L42 (Fill in RIT)

Approximately 2000hrs: Box alarm-11229 Glenboro ave, 36-all hands, 41-all hands, report of a house on fire.  First arriving company reported a
working fire in an occupied house. Working fire dispatch: 11's (RIT/ WORKER) AC1

"Early morning garage fire"
0547 hrs-Box alarm Engine 13, Engine 11, Ladder 13, Rescue 1, Battalion 2.  3456 Regent ave- report of a house on fire. E13 reported a large
1 story brick garage and a car on fire, no other exposures. Fire handled with the box assignment.

"Quick knock on 5th Battalion basement fire"
At 1511hrs, Box alarm at 3623 E103rd St. E-36, L-36, E-41, RS-1 and B-5 Rescue 1 reported an occupied  2.5 story wood frame single family
house with light smoke coming from the front door and out of the chimney.  Upon investigation- RS-1 found a dryer on fire in the basement.


"Mt Pleasant Neighborhood House Fire"
@0740hrs- Box alarm- E- 36 andE-41, L-36, RS- 1, Chief of the 5th Battalion. Location: 3698 E140, report of a house on fire. E36 reported an
occupied 2.5 story wood frame house with fire showing on the first floor. A civilian reported that somebody was trapped on the 3rd floor. 
Primary and secondary search revealed that all occupants were able to escape.  Working fire dispatch: L11 (RIT), E6 (Worker) AC1

"Same house, new fire"

At 0323hrs, E22, E17, T10, R3, B1 were dispatched on a box alarm for report of a house on fire at 1680 E 84th street. First in company declared
"Working Fire" in a 2.5 story wood frame house.  Working fire dispatch-E10(worker) L9(RIT), AC1 and Car 713 (Arson investigation Unit)
. There was a previous fire in this same house approximately 48 hrs prior.

at 1680 E. 84 street. Rescue 3 reported a working fire in a 2.5 story wood frame house with a standard rafter-gable roof. Working fire dispatch:

working fire in an occupied 1.5 story wood frame house.  Working fire dispatch: E4 (Worker), L4 (RIT), AC1.

"Occupants escape the flames on West 33rd street"
Approximately 0900hrs-Box alarm for Engine 20, Engine 42, Tower 20, Rescue 4, and Battalion 4, at 3884 W. 33rd street report of an
occupied house on fire. Battalion 4 reported a working fire in an occupied 2.5 story wood frame side by side duplex, that extended to
one exposure. Working fire dispatch: E24 (Worker), L 42 (RIT), Assistant Chief 1. Witnesses reported that bystanders helped catch
occupants who jumped out of 2nd and 3rd story windows. 5 victims transported to the hospital. 1 fireman suffered a non life threatening burn.

"Early Morning fire in 6th Battalion"
Approximately 0200hrs- Engine 31, Engine 30, Truck 31, Rescue 3 and Battalion 6 responded on a Box Alarm for a report of a house on fire a
t 1114 E143 st. E 31 reported a 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire on 2nd floor and attic.  Working fire dispatch: E 40 (Worker),
L30 (RIT), Assistant Chief #1. 3 lines used due to exposure problems. During the fire, E26 and L9 filled in at 30's house.

There was a partial collapse of the 4th floor, in the rear of the building.

"House Fire in Buckeye Neighborhood"
at 0557 hrs, Eng 41, Eng 36, L-36, RS-1, B-5, E-26 (worker), and L-9 (RIT). Box Alarm at 2921 E121St. 2.5 story house fire with Fire on t
he 1st and 2nd floors of a vacant house. 2 Exposure lines used.1 Fireman was transported by Rescue 1 with non-life threatening injuries.

"Family escapes house fire"
At 0918hrs, Engine Co's 26 and 11, Hook and Ladder 11, Rescue 1 and Chief of Battalion 5. E-13 (worker), L-13 (RIT)responded on a
Box alarm for report of "Children trapped in a house fire" at 3477 E 75 street.  Companies arrived quickly and reported a 2.5 story wood frame
 house with heavy fire blowing out of the1st and 2nd floor windows. It was reported by witnesses that a passer-by helped catch the 4 children
who jumped off of the porch roof after the father helped them climb out of a second floor window.  The family dog died.  One fireman received
 a burn to his hand and was transported by Rescue 1.

Assistant Chief #1, Tactical Rescue 5 (Worker), Tower 10 (RIT). Tower 10 was put to work and L11 responded as the fill in RIT.

at 0005hrs, Box alarm for Engines 38, and 39, Hook and Ladder 39, Rescue 2, Chief of the 3rd Battalion. 4628 W. 130 st.  E38 reported

At 0301hrs, Box alarm for 36 all hands, 41 all hands. 12706 Revere ave, reported as a house on fire.  First arriving company reported a 2.5 story
wood frame house with a working fire on the 2nd and 3rd floors.  Working fire dispatch- E6 (Worker), L11 (RIT), AC-1.  2 lines used.

"3rd Battalion Roof Fire"
1300 hrs E-33, E-38, L-23, RS-2, B-3, AC-1, E-23 (worker), L-39 (RIT )to a report of building on fire at 3507 Bosworth ave on the corner of Fortune.
They found heavy smoke and fire from the roof. The surface tar was burning on the roof, handlines used to extinguish.

At approximately 1830hrs, E17, Tac 5, L9, R3, B1 responded on a Box alarm @ 2268 E 43th st. First arriving company reported a working fire in
an occupied 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire on the 1st and 2nd floors.

"Occupied house fire in Slavic Village neighborhood"

@ approximately 1830hrs- Box alarm for Engines 11 and 13, Ladder 11, Rescue 1, and Chief of the 2nd Battalion. 5716 Fullerton ave,
reported as a house on fire. E11 reported a working fire on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a 2.5 story wood frame house. Working fire dispatch:
E26 (worker), L13 (RIT),AC1.  3 handlines used. Red cross for 3 adults and 3 children.

0235 hrs a 4-4-4 alarm at 1123 East 152nd St. The building was a large two and three story.

2120 hrs. a 3-3-3 Alarm at West 25th St. and Meyer Ave. Eng 24,20,T-20,Squad 4, B-4.  AC-1.  Eng 4  (worker) L--4  (RIT). @ 2112hrs. Special for
Tower-1 Per AC-1 @ 2124hrs 2-2-2 Alarm   Eng 17,42,L-42,Squad 2 & B-1. Also BEAM, Arson  (713). @ Aprox. 2143hrs 3-3-3 Alarm Eng 33,30,
L-11, Squad 3 & AC-2 Damages two commercial structures, Monroe Cabaret and Priceless Cleaners. There was a partial collapse of the
front of one of the buildings.

"MVA in Little Italy"

0352 am A MVA reported, E-10, T-10 responded and found a 4 car MVA with entrapment. The Drivers door was removed to free the victim .

"House fire in the Lee-Miles neighborhood"

2028hrs, Box alarm for Engines 6 and 36, Ladder 36, Rescue 1, Chief of the 5th battalion. 16305 Tarkington ave, reported as dumpster on fire,
next to a house.  First arriving, E6 reported: a well involved 40yrd dumpster, next to a 2.5 story house and fire has extended to the house. Working
fire dispatch: E11(worker), L11 (RIT) AC1.  E6 and L36 outside crew worked together on the dumpster and the exterior of the house.
E 36 extinguished fire on the interior of the house, L36 inside crew-ventilated and overhauled.  R1 did a search and assisted L36 with overhaul.

"Aggressive attack on house fire in 1st battalion"
At 0321hrs, E26, E10, L9, RS1 and B5 responded on a box alarm at 2437 E 89th St for report of a house on fire with children trapped. First arriving,
E26 sized up a 2.5 story wood frame house with nothing showing.  Upon investigation, crews evacuated the house and located a fire in the
finished attic. E 26 attacked the fire, L9 ventilated and RS1 performed a search and assisted L9 with overhaul. All occupants were accounted
for and got out safely.

"Occupied house fire in the 5th Battalion"
At 0116hrs, E41, E26, L36, RS1, B5 dispatched on a box alarm at 3450 E105 for report of an occupied house on fire. B5 was first on scene,
sized up a 1.5 story occupied wood frame house with heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor. E41 attacked the fire, L36 laddered the
2nd floor and ventilated, E26 assisted E41 with the attack and RS1 performed a search, ventilated and shut off the electricity.

"3rd Battalion battles house fire"

Approximately 0100hrs, E39, E43, L39, R2, B3 dispatched for a box alarm at 16701 Chatfield ave for report of a house on fire. First arriving
company reported a wood frame house with fire in the attic. Working fire dispatch: E33 (worker), L23 (RIT), AC1

"Fatal house fire in the 5th Battalion"
At 0826hrs: E41, E36, L36, R1 & B5 responded on a box alarm at 10901 Elliot ave for report of "House on fire". First arriving company reported a 
2.5 story wood frame house with heavy smoke showing from 2nd and 3rd floors.  Working fire dispatch: E 26 (Worker), L11 (RIT), AC-1
. Air supply 1,L9 and FIU were requested also. Members located 2 adult female victims on the second floor. Causes of the deaths and cause
of the fire are under investigation.


"House fire in the 6th Battalion"
Approximately 1930hrs:E30, E22, L30, R3 & B6 responded on a Box alarm at E 112 st & Superior ave. Reported as "House on fire". 
First arriving companies sized up a 2.5 story wood frame house that is well involved. Working fire dispatch: AC-1, T-10 RIT, E10 worker.
3 lines used for attack of the involved building, 2 handlines used for exposures.

"House fire in the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood"
Approximately 2300hrs Box alarm at 3566 E.144 St. for E36, E6, H&L36, RS1 & B-5. Reported as house on fire First company on scene reported a
2.5 story wood frame house with heavy fire on 3 floors. Box:  E41 ( worker) H&L-11 (RIT).  3 handlines used.

Approximately 1500hrs, Signal 3-3-3, Box alarm for commercial building on fire at 4500 block of Superior ave.

"MVA"
2050hrs Rescue Co. 1 and Ladder Co. 11 responded on an MVA with/ Entrapment.
Crews removed the roof of the car to extricate the victim.

"1st Battalion House Fire"
0315hrs, Box alarm at 2500 block of E81 St. for E26, L9, Tac 5, RS1, B1
Report of: "House on Fire".  First arriving, L9 reported: 2.5 story wood frame house with heavy smoke from the rear of the 3rd floor. E26 pulled 
1-3/4" line and made their attack on fire in the attic.  L9 ventilated the roof. RS1 performed a search and assisted with overhaul. Tac 5 pulled a
second line and assisted E26 with water supply. Fire was handled with the box companies.

0923hrs Box Alarm at 1001 E.147th St for E-31, L-31, E-30, RS-3, B-6, L-30 (RIT), E-40 (Worker).
Working Fire in a 2.5 story wood frame duplex.
3 hand lines used

"Fire in the 6th Battalion"
Approximately 1000 hrs Box Alarm for a report of house on fire. First Company on scene reported a dryer fire.
Large Volume of smoke in the house

"Apartment Fire in the Glenville Neighborhood"
1129 hrs. Box Alarm at Barrett Ave and East 105th St.
Station 30 all hands, Station 22 all hands. Working Fire in occupied 2 story brick apartment building. (12 units.)
Upgraded to 2-2-2 alarm E-31, E-40, B-1, RS-4

"5th Battalion House Fire"
Approximately 0100hrs- 5th Battalion house fire
-Box alarm: 41 all hands, E26, L36, E6 worker. 12400 block of Craven ave.
-First arriving L36 reported, Occupied 1.5 story wood frame-single family home with a working fire on the second floor.
-L36 crew forced entry, ventilated the roof and did the secondary search. E41 crew attacked the fire. R1 crew completed primary search and
overhauled the fire room. E6 crew assisted with various tasks. E26 pulled a second attack line to prevent extension. Fire was confined to front
of house on second floor.

Ladder 23 struck while blocking on I-71.

Fire breaks out at "Flat Iron Cafe" in the flats on Labor Day
Initially dispatched as a "private alarm". E2 was browned out, so E4 was first due. E4 reported 2 story brick commercial with smoke showing.
The Flat Iron just announced that they are ready to re-open to serve lunch.
